I have been building collectors the past month and I am going to share with you the method of making a solar collector that works. We are going to be making our own Evacuated Tube Collectors. You won't find this anywhere else on the web. I know because I have looked. I will give you updates on materials and hopefully you will avoid my mistakes.

So first we are going to decided on a material for our collector. That will be Copper. We are going to use two systems. The batch or ICS System and We are going to use a Modified Batch System for a closed loop pre heated boost for our existing electric water heater. 

My goal is to reduce my electrical bill while providing hot water for a family of 5  adults. My kids are in college and well.... you know.
